What to Expect

Thanks for checking out our website. We are excited that you are interested in learning more about our church. For starters, our goal at Christ Community is to be a church family who loves God above all else, loves one another, and loves to declare His glory in all that we do. We all know what it's like to find a church, whether it's for the first time, or because of a new season of life. Honestly, visiting churches can feel strange, lonely, and even scary. Therefore, it might help you to know that we don't really have any expectations. Our hope is to have the privilege of meeting you and helping you get connected with a local church.

Here are a few questions we hope to answer for you so you’ll know what to expect:

What time are Sunday services?

What do people dress like at Christ Community on Sunday?
You will find people dressed pretty casual on Sundays. There's no need to wear a suit and tie or a fancy dress, unless you want to. We want you to be yourself. We have a many people in our church with many different personalities and styles. We want our desire and focus to be on God and our love for being together on Sundays.

Is parking a problem?
Not usually. If you don’t find a spot in our main lot, you can find parking in the shopping center right next door. Either way, you will be very close to our church building. We also have a few handicap and visitor spots located in the front.

How will I know where to go once I’m there?
When you enter our campus you can’t help to miss our beautiful Palm Court. Once on our campus you will be greeted by one of our greeters who can help answer any questions and direct you where to go. If you have kids, they will explain where to go and help you get connected with our Children's Ministry leaders. Below is a diagram of our campus map.

What’s the music like at Christ Community on Sunday?
The music we sing at Christ Community is a mix of traditional and contemporary. Most Sundays we use a full band (guitars, bass, drums, etc.), but we also involve our Celebration Choir and other music groups throughout the year. We love the rich hymns of the past and we also find blessing and encouragement in the choruses of today. We choose songs that lead our people to see the greatness of their God, to declare their need for His grace, and to praise the name of Jesus for what He has done for us in saving them and giving them hope. More than anything, we desire and encourage congregational singing. You will also find that we sometimes include in our services times of reading scripture, prayer, and reflections that are done corporately.

What’s is the preaching like at Christ Community?
Preaching at Christ Community is generally expositional, meaning that it seeks to declare the point of a particular Biblical passage. Sermons usually last around forty minutes and are packed with material to reflect on and application for our lives. Our sermon series often alternate between the Old and New Testaments. All preaching is driven by the Gospel, the Bible’s main message of God saving sinners through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Are there classes for my kids?
We offer a full children's ministry program (birth - 5th grade) during our 10:45 am service time. During our 9:00 am service time we offer a limited program (birth – Kindergarten). Our nursery is equipped with a paging system for parents. We also have a family room where newer mothers and families where they can view and hear our worship services. For nursing mothers, we have a designated room (Bridal Room) where there is an audio feed of the worship service. Find out more about our children's ministry on the Children’s page.

Are there classes for my teens?
Yes! There class is offered during at 10:45 am. You can find out all about our middle school and high school ministries on our Student's page.

Do I need to be a Christian to come to one of your services?
No. But to be honest, our greatest hope is that you would be. It is our joy and promise to let you know the truth of what the Bible says and to let you know who Jesus is and why we call Him our Lord and Savior.
