What is AWANA?
Awana is a fun Christian club designed for children, 3 years old through 6 grade. AWANA happens Wednesdays, 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. throughout the school year.

Where Does the Name AWANA Come From?
The AWANA acronym comes from the second book of Timothy, chapter two, verse 15: "Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."

We at the Christ Community Church of Laguna Hills believe that AWANA is an effective method to teach and prepare our children for the future. AWANA is a time-tested program that has been offered in the United States for over fifty years. We have been a chartered Church since 1980. AWANA has also been expanding its program to be an international program with its material printed in many languages.

One major emphasis of AWANA is to teach your children the importance of "hiding scripture in your heart." This is done through the memorization of God's Word in a fun environment designed around your child's age and is self-paced.

awana_logos_collage Each of the three separate clubs that makes up AWANA Clubs is distinct from the rest. Starting with the Cubbies (3 to 4 year olds) and ending with T&T (3th - 6th grade). AWANA has something to offer every child. The clubs meet on Wednesday nights and are divided in three segments: Bible Lesson, Handbook (listening to verses) and Games. Our fun game time is always a big hit with the kids. We also have theme nights and special "Family Nights."

We believe that the AWANA club is a helpful tool for you as parents to use in your quest to teach the Scriptures and train up your children in the ways of the Lord. We encourage parents and leaders to memorize and study the lessons in the handbooks along with your children or at your own pace. If you have any questions on how to teach your children or how to work through a handbook on your own, please give us a call.

Please feel free to visit the club meetings to understand more about AWANA. If we can answer any questions please feel free to call.
