Our History
Christ Community Church of Laguna Hills began as a home Bible study in 1968 with the help of Wally Norling, the denomination's District Superintendent. Church services began in 1969 at Mission Viejo Swim and Racquet and the church was chartered in 1970 as Evangelical Free Church of Laguna Hills by thirty charter members. After meeting in a variety of different locations for a few years, property at the current site in Laguna Hills was purchased in 1971. The facility has undergone several expansions, the latest completed in February 2009, which provided the church with a new sanctuary

In its 40-year history, four senior pastors have served the church, beginning with the Reverend Arno Wiebe in the summer of 1970. The Reverend Bill Hull assumed leadership in 1976, followed by the Reverend Jim Walker in 1980. The Reverend Don Smith served as the Senior Pastor from 1984 to 2009.  Pastor Charles R. Moore was approved as the next Senior Pastor on January 18, 2009.  Since the church's beginning, it has grown from about 60 families to now involve nearly 600 adults, youth and children.

For 40 years the church has stood firm in its commitment to God-centered worship, relevant Biblical preaching, and dynamic family-oriented fellowship. God willing, Christ Community Church of Laguna Hills will be a church where He is glorified for yet another 40 years. To God be the glory in this church for now and evermore. Amen!
